Cheesecake Filled Chocolate Covered Strawberries

These plump strawberries filled with cheesecake, dipped in chocolate and then drizzled are perfect for birthdays, parties, celebrations, and holidays.

What You Need:
Whole Strawberries
Philadelphia Ready-To-Eat Cheesecake filling
Good Quality Dipping Chocolate

What You Do:
Carefully wash strawberries and pat dry with paper towels. Remove the stems from the berries.

Using a small paring knife, core the center of each berry being careful to leave the bottom in tact.Fill a plastic baggie with the cheesecake filling. Fill each berry with cheesecake continuing on top of berry with a pretty design.

Line a small baking sheet with wax paper.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt dipping chocolate at 30-second intervals until chocolate is smooth and creamy. Dip each strawberry into chocolate, covering 3/4 of the berry. Lay on baking sheet. Fill a second plastic baggie with chocolate and drizzle over the berries in a pretty design. Chill. Bring to room temperature before serving.

Store in a sealed plastic container in the refrigerator.

Wow, yum is all I can say. It reminds me of just last New Year's, when my husband and I were reduced by a chocolate craving to making fondu with the leftover Christmas stocking Hershey kisses, lol!
Hey, I just replied to your Oz post too on my blog.

I make chocolate dipped strawberries for chic flick nights - my friends all call them orgasms because they are so good - these I guess would be multiple orgasms!

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments. After all of this talking, I wish that I could find ripe strawberries around here to make these now. They are sooo good!

Is this something that I can make a day or 2 in advance and just keep it in the fridge?

you, are a genius
i will have to make this, maybe add some gramcracker too

Tami said...

Anon, Thanks for your comments! These strawberries are SO good!

Jenna, I'm sorry that I didn't see your question sooner. No, I wouldn't make these more than an hour ahead of time. Any more than that I would be afraid that the cream cheese filling would start to seperate because of the juice in the strawberries.

I made these last night - I never read the comments regarding the cream cheese filling/juice issue - but they look great today (refrigerated of course) and my grown son said they tasted great - we'll know what the reaction is from the party I made them from...later.

Hi Andrew's Mom,

The strawberries should be ok as long as they are refrigerated. It's when they are room temp. that the juices in the strawberries will start to run, and then after a while it might start curdling the cream cheese.

I hope that everyone likes them! Please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Tami,

Everyone went nuts - they thought I got them from a fancy bakery (I was told by husband - I was home with a sick child) - my picture of them - looks just like yours -- thank you for the recipe.

Jenny, That's awesome! I'm glad everyone liked them. Sorry to hear that you missed the party. I hope that things are better today.

Where can i buy the cheesecake filling??

Tami said...

Hi Brittany!

You can find the filling at most stores. I bought it at WalMart. It's right in the same area as the regular cream cheese.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just when I thought that chocolate covered strawberries couldn't get any better... you come out with this!

These are beautiful..I'd love to try these sometime. What do you consider "dipping chocolate?" Can you be more specific about that..exactly what you use? Do you use some type of piping bag/tip to get the fancy swirls?

Really pretty! Can't wait to try them!

I was going to just make chocolate covered strawberrys for my daughters baby shower but now I'll make these it will be a big hit I know it! & something different ....thx for the ideas :-D

You can make the cheese cake filling from scratch as well. It's just 4 oz (half of a regular sized container) of cream cheese at room temp., 1/4 cup icing sugar and a splash of vanilla :) very yummy

How far in advance can you make these? Is it best to make them the day before you serve them? What is your advice?

Anonymous said...

What about cream cheese marshmallow filling dipped in chocolate!?! What would be an example of a good quality melting chocolate?

Anonymous said...

Thanks so much for the tip on the cream cheese filling as I can't buy the ready to eat filling in Canada

Where do you find the cheesecake filling

someone up above said it would be good with white chocolate. what would make it even better for valentines day and all is if you melt that white chocolate and then add alittle red foor coloring and it turn pink. thats what i do for frosting and chocolate when im decorating cupcakes. its just for the look, doesn't do anything to the taist. give it a try. and if someone already said this, sorry, i didn't read all the comments.

These look so yummy. I had something similar at a Pampered Chef party but they didn't look as delicious as yours in the picture. However the cream cheese filling was made as above with cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla. They sprinkled Maple Flavoured crushed nuts (just a little on the Cream Cheese for a garnish. Awesome. Can I say that the whole plate of these tasties was gone in a split second, leaving us wanting more!

I made these for my husbands & my "special night" but I added one little thing.... I put some Graham crackers in the food processor and lightly poured the tops of the cheesecake filing in it..... Needles to say he was HAPPY with the results :)

Im making these for my bf for Valentines day, then leaving them for him in the am before I go to work, so he wakes up to a treat. How soon in advance can I make these for them to still be good, if I keep them refrigerated? Im new at this cooking stuff.. ;-)

These were easy and so delicious. Will be making them again.
